This is one of two matching oil paintings naar "after" Otto Eerelman 1839-1926, the Netherlands House of Orange being one his patrons. he scene unfolds with a majestic horse in mid-step! Its drawing the carriage over a rutted ground. The wooden carriage is ornately carved, practically a home bench attached to a platform, ha! The bride is without her coat. Next to her is the groom with one hand with the reins and the other with a whip. There are trees to the left and bushes to the right. There might even be a body of water or canal in the background.
