The RIAA 45 Gold record award has a plaque, mounted beneath a gold single with orange label, that reads "Presented to PRESS PUBLISHING to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of the RCA RECORDS pop single record 'SUSPICIOUS MINDS,'" all set against a white linen matte background and in a wooden frame. "Suspicious Minds" was a song written by Mark James but made famous by Elvis' 1969 rendition, which was released as a single by RCA with "You'll Think of Me" on side B on August 26, 1969. The single release was recorded in a manner mimicking Elvis' on-stage performance to replicate the live sound. Elvis first performed the song in Las Vegas on July 31, 1969 and RCA released the 45 single just weeks after. The style was successful and the single, Elvis' last ever, sold well over a million copies and was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine number 91 in their 500 greatest songs of all time.
