C. D. Wader - Canandaigua, NY (1849-1918) Charles Dickens Wader was active/lived in New York. Charles Wader is known for Landscape . He was the teacher of listed Finger Lakes artist F.D. Crandall (Frederick Daniel Crandall). He painted many local scenes of the rolling hills, quiet streams, and of course the jewel of the Finger Lakes; Canandaigua Lake. Charles Dickens Wader was an alcoholic and would go to bars and trade his water colors for alcoholic beverages. Later he mixed alcohol with morphine or other exotic drugs, which eventually drove him insane. Wader died penniless in the Willard Asylum for the Insane.
