Description:

This tin friction toy was made in 1952 by Tatsuya in Osaka, Japan, and is an exact replica of the full sized truck, bearing all of the markings, menus and "Watch For Children" images on all four sides. It is the more difficult to find larger full sized 11" version of this toy. A wonderful nostalgic toy for those who remember the "Good Humor" ice cream truck that crisscrossed neighborhoods and cities across the United States , mainly in the Northeastern seaboard, selling ice cream to kids and adults; "banana split on a stick", "toasted almond ice cream sticks", creamsicles, and ice cream sundaes in a cup, were only some of the items sold. ranging in price from 10 to 35 cents. To operate; the wheels "rev up" by running them across the floor and upon release, the truck runs "down the road" clanging it's bell, making the sounds it would have made, enticing and letting everyone know that the ice cream truck was on your block.
