Description:

Identified on the back. The Sears Roebuck and Company was responsible for some of the most outrageous, cutting edge and sought after bicycle designs of the 1930's and into the 40's. Elgin Bicycles had numerous models in this date range and every 2-3 years they completely changed up the line up. This is what made Sears a leader in the industry so special in their time. The Elgin Bluebird, Robin, Blackhawk and Twin Bar are perfect examples of this engineering. To create these amazing designs, Sears stole the top hot shot designer, John R. Morgan, from General Motors' Art and Color Section to head product design from 1934 to 1944. Sears used major manufactures such as Westfield, Murray and some Monarks to pull off these exclusive builds to keep up with the consumers demand.
