Parker a Seneca sachem from several French maps of 1720 or earlier, showing ancient trails, lakes, villages, and principal locations with their aboriginal names. Redrawn 1962 by Eber L. Russell, historian, Perrysburg, N.Y. with additions of villages, trails, and springs from more than fifty years of research. Shows Iroquoian toponymy for settlements, waterways, and other features in upstate New York and portions of Pennsylvania. Diazotype, hand-colored. Includes text on the following topics: Mythology -- Rivers -- Lakes -- Places -- National names -- Names not on Morgan's map -- Meanings. Text uses Iroquois place names with English translations and place names.
