Description:

This lidded stein was decorated with a large center cartouche of a very detailed transfer image of the T.S. Bremen at sea. This is actually the third of those ocean liners with that name, going all the way back to 1858 , when the first Bremen began steamer service between Bremerhaven, Germany and New York. The famous NDL line (Norddeutscher Lloyd) owned all three ships, and NDL is today known as Hapag-Lloyd. The T.S. Bremen depicted on this stein was originally built in 1939 and later acquired by NDL. After a long career, she was sold and renamed in 1971, but then sank in 1980.
