Description:

The Roger Edet Paris Modernist Architectural Link Bracelet is a highly sought-after, exceptionally rare piece of French mid-century avant-garde jewelry dating back to the 1940's. Roger Edet was a French jeweler operating a boutique on the Rue de Turbigo in Paris during the mid-1940s. Because his workshop produced very limited quantities of these complex, hand-wrought pieces, they are considered true collector’s items today. Aesthetic: Features a bold, industrial design heavily inspired by the Bauhaus and Brutalist movements. It is often described as having an "architectural" or "machine age" look with tight, geometric fence-slat links. Materials: The heavy, thick articulated links are typically made of heavy brass finished with a gold-washed plating or a rich golden patina. A few exceedingly rare silver-tone examples also exist. The Clasp: Known for an incredibly complex, seamless engineering feat. The invisible hook mechanism completely disappears into the geometric slats when fastened, making the bracelet look like one continuous, uninterrupted link unit. With research, I have seen multiple identical bracelets listed as Roger Edet, although none have his name stamped into them, like most of his jewelry. A unique heavy bracelet, made in Paris.
