James Cleveland "Jesse" Owens was an American track and field athlete and four-time gold medalist in the 1936 Olympic Games. Born: September 12, 1913, Oakville, AL. Died: March 31, 1980, Tucson, AZO. Owens specialized in the sprints and the long jump and was recognized in his lifetime as "perhaps the greatest and most famous athlete in track and field history". This is a black and white actual photograph of Jesse Owens' appearance at the Lincoln - Mercury Exhibit, New York Auto Show. Owens was a member of the Lincoln - Mercury Sports Panel. Dated on the back for March 31, 1968. Photo is not framed.
