A black and white portrait of the SS concentration camp Neuengamme guard, Anneliese Kohlmann. Biographical information in German is attached on the backside, dated Lunenburg September 19, 1945. Anneliese Kohlmann, 1921 - 1977 was a German SS camp guard at the Neuengamme and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. She was sentenced to two years in prison at the Belsen Trial in Luneburg in 1946. Anneliese Kohlmann brutally beat and sexually exploited female concentration camp prisoners — but she was sentenced to just two years in prison for her war crimes. Afterwards she lived in Hamburg and then in West Berlin.
