Description:

It is marked Dan Uebele Champions 1912. Complimentary Dinner Given By The Denver Baseball Assn. at the Savoy Hotel in Denver, Co. Oct 2, 1912. Invitation to a dinner given by The Denver Base Ball Association held at the Savoy Hotel in Denver, Colorado. There are autographs written on the invitation. Milton Louis Anfenger was a member of the Denver Base Ball Club and was owner of the Denver Bears from 1923 to 1932. He was known as Denver's ''Mr. Baseball.'' Milton Anfenger was also a Colorado state senator and an attorney. An authentic 1912 Denver Bears (Grizzlies) Colorado League Champions Official League No. 97 horsehide baseball is an exceptionally rare piece of early 20th-century minor league baseball memorabilia. Historical records indicate that the Denver franchise played as the Denver Grizzlies from 1901 to 1912 before transitioning back to the Bears moniker. The team captured back-to-back league championships in 1912 and 1913, making artifacts from this exact season highly sought after by regional sports historians and vintage baseball collectors. A true period-accurate ball will feature deep, ink-stamped markings denoting the "Official League No. 97" specifications and specific "Colorado League" or Western League championship designations. Baseballs from 1912 were wrapped in genuine horsehide rather than modern cowhide. The stitching pattern, thread material, and core (typically a mix of rubber and wrapped yarn) should align with early 1910's manufacturing standards.
