Description:

Up for your consideration is this original glass negative circa 1880-1890 that came from an exclusive photographic collection in Boston. It depicts a "skin game" where African American men are playing (and 2 are humorously cheating at) a game of poker. Measuring 3" X 5", and in outstanding condition considering the age. The black and white photograph that comes with it is a recent reprint to demonstrate how crisp and clean the image is produced by the negative. Extremely rare piece of Black Americana and early photographic history. We describe all items to the best of our ability as we are not experts on everything. Please ask specific questions on details or condition prior to bidding, ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS. We box and ship to keep costs low.
