A post WWll medal commemorating the landing of Japan by allied forces. It is beautifully cast in bronze, and on the obverse is the Takarazuka theater, at Yurakucho, which was requisitioned by Occupational forces from 1945-1952. It was renamed the Ernie Pyle theater after the American journalist who was killed in 1945 during the battle of Iwo Jima. Depicts Mount Fuji on the reverse. A great early 1949 version with an Allied Victory Ribbon.
