Operated Fruge's Academy of Art, New Orleans, 1949-1952. Since then has traveled and exhibited principally in Europe and Mexico with frequent periodic sojourns in New Orleans. Nestor H. Fruge is an American artist who was born in 1916. For years Fruge set up his easel daily in Jackson square where he painted New Orleans scenes, often for customers who waited while he created a picture for them. Nestor H. Fruge's work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $100 USD to $738 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2004 the record price for this artist at auction is $738 USD for View from Jackson Square, sold at Crescent City Auction Gallery in 2018.
