Published by Doubleday Page & Company, Garden City, NY (1927). This edition contains twelve of Kipling's animal stories (e. g. How the Camel Got His Hump, The Elephant's Child, The Crab that Played with the Sea, The Cat That Walked by Himself, etc.) with twelve classic full color illustrations by J. M. Gleeson. Black and White drawings by the author (full page and various other sizes). Front and rear endpapers ("BLEESON" listed in small print on both) depict several of the animals in the stories bunched together while the giraffe reaches for a branch -- in color. 1912 date on copyright page, but the publication of this edition was 1927.
