Description:

Here is a 4 page soldier letter home to his parents, written on Patriotic Letterhead, circa 1862. The soldier talks of writing the letter in a "carriage of one of the cannons" as well as he mentions $10 in gold, and trying to get his photo taken. He also speaks of Fort Ellsworth located in Alexandria Virginia, but then being stationed in Florida for most of the time "to guard the Fort in case the Northern Army has to retreat". The text is very dark and readable. Some expected age toning to paper and some wear noted. Image of Liberty and the colors, are still very nice.
