Outstanding full case Daguerreotype of a handsome well-to-do young Boston, Massachusetts man. The 1/9th plate has a simple early plain gold protector and mat, circa 1850. under the image was found three (3) calling cards in sepia ink that identified the gentleman as "Henry H. Carr, Boston" and they are on white stock paper and are in mint condition! The image is outstanding with great detail showing his tinted cheeks, gold watch chain and tie pin. You can even make out the elegant pattern of his tie! On the reverse is an ad for the photographer as well, that mentions " 25 Cent Daguerreotype and Photographic Rooms, Ambrotypes, Vitralotypes" etc. The full leatherette case and the original hinge function as it should without issue. A great example of photographic history worthy of any high end collection. We describe all items to the best of our ability as we are not experts on everything.
