Signed upper left and titled / dated on the back. Bernard A. Pfriem is an American painter , born in September 7 , 1916in Cleveland , Ohio , and died in1996, in New York . Bernard Pfriem landed the arm of Maxime de la Falaise (en) the model (and mother of Loulou de la Falaise ), the face of the fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli , in the small village of Lacoste to which he was very attached in the fifties. He founded an art school in Lacoste in 1978, which still exists as Savannah College of Art and Design. (SCAD) It's actually a branch of Savannah College in Atlanta.
