WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON; below, BORN FEB. 9, 1773. REV: Log cabin, flag flying right, cider barrel and mug at left; above, in a semicircle, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE; below, THE HERO/ OF/ TIPPECANOE. All the slogans and symbolism utilized by the first modern presidential campaign are found on this Harrison campaign medalet from 1840. Struck in both brass and copper on a larger planchet.
