Description:

Marked 1/20-12K - G.F. and WL for Walter Lampl. Walter Lampl was born in 1895 in New York City. In 1921, he opened his wholesale jewelry company and named it Walter Lampl. He became a very prominent jeweler. His early pieces are coveted by collectors due to their rarity. His beautifully designed Art Deco fine jewelry pieces demand high auction prices. After a wonderful and very successful career, Lampl died suddenly at age 50, in 1945. The family continued the business until 1959, when it closed its doors. Walter Lampl is known for two things mainly: being a fantastic designer using superb quality materials and workmanship, and being a very kind and generous man. There is a fabulous and inspiring article about him called Walter Lampl: Creators of the Unusual…As Usual,” by Cheri Van Hoover which you can find online. Reading it affirms the very positive impression one gains by looking at and touching his creations.
