Description:

A great country store advertising lid used to cover cardboard, metal or wood bins or boxes that held biscuits, crackers, cookies, etc. Most of these lids were hinged so that you could open the box, choose what you wanted, and close the lid again, keeping the item fresh. This lid advertised the "Ontario Biscuit Company". The mark on the front edge of the lid says that it was manufactured by the Russakov Can Company, Chicago, Illinois, with the patent dates 1923 and 1924. This removable top still has its original glass and hardware that holds the glass in the top of the metal frame that is hinged to the unglassed bottom metal frame that would fit over the container.
