Chromolithograph print of a wagon train of settlers heading west escorted by cowboys on horseback. On the back of the last wagon in the train are several cases and kegs of this brewery's finest. This lithographed print is marked "Copyright By Anheuser-Busch Brewing" in the lower corner. St. Louis-born Berninghaus, known for his southwestern images, was commissioned by the brewery to create several images for their use in advertising. He would later settle in Taos, New Mexico. Anheuser-Busch chromolithographs were issued in 1912 as part of the brewery's advertising campaign. the brewery's tradition of utilizing great moments from American history to inspire the public's thirst. Kegs and crates marked with the Anheuser-Busch logo are prominently tucked in each image, creating the impression that the great men who tamed the wild west were fueled by beer.
