Lot 167
The initials stand for Harry, Edward, and Frank Atkin, the three brothers who took over their father Henry Atkins spoon-making company. In antique cutlery descriptions, "wraps" or bands generally refer to sterling silver ferrules or bolsters. These are the decorative metal collars that bridge the handle to the blade or fork tines. Even when the blades or tines themselves are high-grade silver plate (EPNS), these ferrules are frequently stamped with genuine sterling silver hallmarks.
