Maker: Frederick Bassett (1740–1800). Frederick Bassett worked in New York City from 1761-1780 when he moved to Hartford, CT due to the British occupying NYC. He returned to New York circa 1785 and remained there until his death in 1800. This dish has a great hammered booge. The condition of the metal is good with very good marks. The Bassetts were a prominent pewtering family. Frederick was John Bassett’s son.
