Lot 316
An authentic c. 1700 Native American Indian forged iron trade axe head represents the peak of the early Colonial Fur Trade era. By 1700, English, French, and Dutch blacksmiths were mass-producing these iron heads to trade for valuable beaver pelts. These tools completely revolutionized native woodworking, butchering, and warfare, quickly replacing traditional stone celts.
