Lot 244
In the 1800s, confectioners used carved wooden boards and metal molds to shape and mass-produce intricate candies. These were used to make hard candies, pulled sugar figurines (like animals, flowers, and figures), lozenges, marzipan, and embossed chocolates. These boards and molds were crucial for the 19th-century candy boom, allowing commercial confectioners to create highly detailed, uniform treats.
