Description:

Piroxloid Products Corp. New York, N.Y. One of the largest format baseball games, this Christy Mathewson Big Six baseball game dates from 1922. The beautiful top graphics use a photograph of Mathewson throwing, with a ghosted image of the game board behind him. The reverse of the cover features directions on how to play the game and has a picture of Mathewson playing the game with a young boy. The primary playing board has a large round circle with various outcomes, and a spinner in the middle to determine the play. Nine generic player images are illustrated on the board. Dugouts for each team normally had pins to place in the circles, while the scoreboard also used pins (none included) to count balls, strikes and outs. A pencil was used to fill in the innings and scores.
