Woven silk ribbon for the second annual Rochester Industrial Exposition, commemorating the enlarged department store of Sibley, Lindsay & Curr Company. The exposition was held at Naval Armory and Convention Hall in Rochester, New York on October 1123, 1909. Illustrations on the ribbon depict the convention hall, constructed in 1868, as well as Sibleys five-story department store. The 1904 Sibley, Lindsay & Curr Building was designed in the Chicago school style by Rochester architect, J. Foster Warner (18591937). An aerial view depicted on the ribbon shows the steel and brick department store with its prominent clock tower. The Rochester Industrial Exposition was held annually to promote the citys industrial and commercial capabilities. The citys industries included Eastman Kodak, Bausch & Lomb, as well as garments sold in such stores as Sibley, Lindsay & Curr Company.
