Nice original black washed wood frame. This is a breathtaking illustration drawn by the famous W. L. Taylor depicting the poem of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, "The Hanging of the Crane." The 7 part poem begins: "The lights are out, and gone are all the guests That thronging came with merriment and jests To celebrate the Hanging of the Crane". The original drawing appears to have been completed in charcoal and leaves beautiful shading details.
