This features the original, first-generation USS Texas (1895). She was a 2nd-class battleship and a famous hero of the Spanish-American War, notably fighting at the Battle of Santiago de Cuba in 1898. This is not the later, preserved World War I/II museum ship USS Texas (BB-35). Enrique Muller (often working with his son, Enrique Muller Jr.) was known historically as the "daredevil photographer" of the U.S. Navy. He specialized in dramatic, crisp, on-board and high-action maritime photography during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Great photo of the USS Texas.
