Description:

1897 patented combination lock stopper for a Hayner Whiskey decanter bottle. This brass & cork stopper would lock into the neck of a special designed Hayner bottle to keep children or unwanted drinkers from your bottle of whiskey! It could only be unlocked if you knew the right combination. It is embossed HAYNER WHISKEY STOPPER PATENTED in black print on top with numbers from 1 to 12. It has a little brass pointer hand which turns around a central brass post and a pair of protruding "dogs", as they were called in the Hayner Co patent, would anchor the stopper into a groove around the top inside lip of a special bottle. Cork around the bottom of the brass stopper.
