Alfred Russel Fuller (American, b. 1899, d. 1980). Born in Deerfield, Massachusetts in 1899, Alfred Fuller was a well-recognized painter, lithographer and teacher. Fuller began his artistic studies at Amherst College and became a member of the Laguana Beach Art Association, La Jolla Art Association, Salmagundi Club and the Allied Artists of America. His works were exhibited at the National Academy of Design, American Watercolor Society, annually at the Washington Watercolor Club and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts as well as at several prestigious galleries throughout the country. Although Fuller was an engineer by profession, he made time to paint and hone his craft. For many years, Fuller spent his summers on Monhegan Island in Maine, like many artists of the time, painting the rugged island scenery in his land and seascapes.
