Description:

A nice round small pie plate with a slightly flattened base and having flared rounded sides terminating in a coggled rim. The plate has a slip design in yellow coloring showing a buck or male deer running and surrounded by plants in front and back and wavy lines above and below. The buck has long horns with three point on each and its legs are spread back and front suggesting fast running. The design is drawn on an orangish-brown colored background. The back of the plate is dated and signed by Greg Shooner, the artist who decorated the plate. This plate, as usual with all Shooner pieces, is a reproduction of a late eighteenth or early nineteenth century piece of primitive redware. It is a nice-looking plate and would make a great addition to your collection. Marks: "Mary Spellmire Shooner; This Glaze Contains Lead; Not for Food Storage or Use; Shooner American Redware; Oregonia, O" and signed Greg Shooner 1999 in cursive calligraphy on bottom Please ask specific questions on details, condition, and shipping prior to bidding, ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS, and the bidder will be responsible for payment.
