LUIS ANIBAL POTOSI was born on September 20, 1937, in San Antonio de Ibarra, Imbabura, Ecuador, a town that has been the birthplace and site of great artists. Luis Potosí, the son of humble farmers in the area, is a teacher who has created the new craft school in San Antonio de Ibarra. It has raised the cry of protest airy compared to the traditional and stereotypical to make the great leap from craft to art in large scale. Potosi is a born artist, as a child modeling in clay, later carved in stone, and when he found his true element, timber, achieved their full identification. Since then, we should not say that height, but modeling and wood railing as if it were a ductile material and soft hands which draw the most incredible aesthetic manifestations. His work has won a place in the cultural sphere of society Ecuador, contributing to the development and promotion of tourism in Ecuador. Luis Potosí has exhibited in various cities in America and Europe. He has received awards, trophies and a deserved recognition of his work. He studied at the Institute of Fine Arts "Daniel Reyes", where she honed her knowledge of art and majored in sculpture. His teachers were prominent artists of the Quito School successors. He graduated in 1957 and has since established his own studio-school, where he has taught more than a hundred artisans. He was Professor of Art at the University of Manabi, Ecuador, has taught art in schools and national schools. It has also been a member of juries Qualifiers in art fairs and exhibitions. We offer professional shipping in-house and are more than happy to work with you.
Our process goes like this:
1. You will get an invoice email the day after the sale ends. If you live out of our area, we will assume that you need shipping.
2.We professionally package your order and calculate shipping. We make every effort to combine multiple items into one box.
2. We send you an invoice with the total due. Once you pay the invoice, we purchase the shipping label and get your items on the way to you. USPS is used most of the time, sometimes UPS, especially for the larger items.
Shipping costs are calculated by:
- Cost charged by shipper (UPS, USPS, etc).
- $5 per box, for most boxes.
- Unusual items or unusually sized items may not be shippable with us.
We will be happy to work with you if you use a third-party shipper.
