The first book devoted to a comic book character, written by George Lowther who was a script writer for The Adventures of Superman radio show. Lowther extends the Superman back story, renaming Superman's Krytonian parents Jor-El and Lara, and fleshes out "the worlds of Superman's parents on Krypton and his foster parents on Earth . His longest-lasting contribution to the mythos was having Clark [Kent] slowly discover his powers during his teens, which made him more empathetic and believable." - Tye.
