Lot 259

Published by Random House, New York, 1934. Rare original DJ with $1.00 price intact on flap noting a previous $3.00 price. The Travels of Babar is the second title in the Babar series. Originally published by Smith and Haas in 1934, two years later Smith and Haas would be consumed by Random House, and English language Babar titles would now be published under the Random House imprint beginning in 1936. The last date on the copyright page of this book is 1934, yet this being a Random House publication makes this at least a 1936 printing; despite its 1934 copyright date. Now considering the original rare DJ is present, the rear flap lists other books in the Babar series.
