Description:

It comes in a frame behind glass. The USFA (United States Food Administration) was created during WWI to promote the domestic consumption of corn over more valuable items such as beef that was shipped overseas to the soldiers. "The W.F. Powers Co. Litho; N.Y." lower bottom right edge. "No. 14" and USFA medallion in lower left hand corner. US WWI Lithographs were used during 1917 and 1918 to encourage citizens to buy Liberty Bonds, special charitable appeals, conserve food and goods and enforce patriotism. Since the federal government had banned commercial radio, the posters were needed to spread these messages. Many of the works were commissioned by well-known artists of the day.
