First Albany edition, an appealingly unsophisticated copy of the second American edition, following that of Philadelphia (1802); this Albany printing adds an 8-page letter addressed to the publishers by a Peter W. Yates in which he discusses his own practical experiences in cultivating fruit trees. "Cobbett added an introduction and notes, intended for the American reader, to the Philadelphia edition of this popular Treatise by William Forsyth (1737-1804), a superintendent of the Royal Gardens.
