Published by L.C. Baker, 1867 Philadelphia. Baker (1826-1869) was head of the Secret Service during the Civil War. Among his other exploits, was the capture of John Wilks Booth. This book contains some interesting commentary on spying, assassinations, and conspiracies during the Civil War. Bakerâ  s own background, as well as the origin of the Secret Service is also discussed. Please ask specific questions on details, condition, and shipping prior to bidding, ALL ITEMS ARE SOLD AS IS, and the bidder will be responsible for payment.
